Love receiving thank you letters like this about the Hunters Appreciation Brunch Rotary hosted! Another great example of our district#LightingUpRotary this year:

First off, thank you!  I wanted to share with you my joy and appreciation for the Hunter's Appreciation Breakfast that we held this morning at the KWEC for the opening morning of duck season at Cheyenne Bottoms WA.

I was thrilled with our turnout.  Obviously, there was a huge number of hunters at the Bottoms this morning.  This was the 2nd year for doing a breakfast, and it was much more successful this year than last.  We served biscuits and gravy, coffee, juice, and granola bars.  The breakfast was sponsored by Great Bend Regional Hospital (Roger Marshall, et al.).  The Cheyenne Bottoms Ducks Unlimited Chapter (Kim and Gene Schneweis) held a silent auction and a game for a raffle, We had 3 informational booths, including duck wing identification, banding data, and free hunting resources.  Tom Bidrowski was here talking with hunters and answering questions.

Many of you (KDWPT, DU, etc.) helped with promoting this event.  This began as a simple idea last year, and has already grown into an excellent event!

In all, we had 185 hunters stop by the Center (Last year we had 50-60).  We fed at least 135 of them, until our food ran out.  Numerous hunters mentioned this was their first time stopping at the KWEC, which is one of the main drivers of us doing this event!

So, overall, thank you for helping make this a great event for the Kansas Wetlands Education Center.  I hope to continue this in the future!
