Today, I had the opportunity to "assist" the McPherson College Rotaract club make candied pretzels for a fund raiser.  On this cold and blistery Sunday afternoon, the club members met for a thanksgiving lunch, then started the process of dipping over 40 dozen pretzels in white chocolate, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or chocolate sprinkles; they sell these made to order delicacies for $10 a dozen. The Rotaract club will use the money for purchasing club t-shirts and food for club meals.

Like Rotary International, the Rotaract club of McPherson College is represented by a diversity of students.  Club President, Amanda Leffew is from St Charles, Illinois; other club members present were from Winnepeg, Canada, Ventura, California, a smattering of small towns in Kansas, as well as from big cities such as the Kansas City metro area.

The club has many great projects, such as bringing attention to the homeless and hungry by "forking the court yard," and building "houses" out of cardboard in which students spend the night.

McPherson College Rotaract, thanks for sharing your thanksgiving meal with me, and all you do to help, "LIGHT UP ROTARY!"
